1. Meticulous wound care is crucial after skin resurfacing.
2. Expect redness and increasing swelling today and tomorrow- typically improves in 24-48 hours.
3. Immediately after treatment, apply cool compress, may use fan.
4. Apply the recommended moisturizer as often as needed the first 24-48 hours.
5. Starting tomorrow, morning and bedtime- use gentle face wash, hyaluronic acid gel, and ceramide barrier cream.
6. Use SPF in the morning.
7. Discontinue Retin-A, acidic or irritating products until day 7.
8. Once the ablative areas have pixelated over (typically between 24-48 hours) make-up can be applied to minimize pixel appearance.
9. If adverse skin effects occur (such as excessive reddening or swelling), please contact your clinical provider.
10. Avoid sun exposure during pre and post operative period (2-4 weeks).
