1. Bruising and swelling around treatment site is common and may last several days.
2. Tenderness and firmness at treatment site may last up to a few days.
3. Lumps/bumps typically soften and settle over time.
4. Do not rub, massage, or apply ice packs to treatment area unless directed to do so.
5. If lips were treated, avoid aggressive kissing or use of straws.
6. Avoid makeup day of procedure.
7. Avoid strenuous exercise, sauna/hot tub or extensive sun exposure for 24-72 hours.
8. No alcohol, smoking, or NSAIDs for 24 hours.
9. Avoid dental work, immunizations, laser treatments or facials for 2 weeks.
10. Try to sleep on your back and slightly elevated to minimize swelling.
11. Take antiviral (Valtrex) as directed if you are prone to cold sores.
12. Call immediately if you have severe/increasing pain, blanching of injected areas or discoloration around injected areas, developing sores/scabs/cold sores, warmth/redness around the site, painful nodules, or fever/flu-like symptoms.
